ʻO Keisha Kanaka koʻu inoa. No Oʻahualua mai au.
My storytelling is guided by my kūpuna, moʻolelo, and ʻāina. Kāhuli were known to be the voices of the forest. They were so small, and yet, their songs could be heard when they sang in multitudes. My photography centers on those smaller moments that hold a larger space in our naʻau: Tūtū teaching their moʻopuna, ʻōpio joy, lāhui taking care of ʻāina, and all those fleeting emotions we sometimes take for granted. I hope my individual sessions, when seen all together, paint a large mosaic of lāhui and the stories we can sing if we use our leo together.
